Larger birds enjoy larger goodies! Our blue Jay pair make regular raids on the peanut bowl. They are skittish enough when doing this and, like some large-scale Chickadee, they fly off to a safe branch somewhere and crack open their prize to enjoy a tasty treat.

Smörgåsbord: "a luncheon or supper buffet offering a variety of foods and dishes"... Oh, and they ALL look SO Delicious! Which should a Blue Jay choose??? Hmmmmmmmm...

Blue Jay

Sunbathing is an activity that is common to many birds. This bluejay appears content to soak up a few rays, wings and tail spread, panting in the heat. What's the deal with Texans and their infernal heat?

Blue Jay

Blue Jay garden stats show the birds to be frequent and fairly numerous. The quantity curve nicely shows the arrival of fledglings in June and an autumn dispersal starting September. With the dispersal the visit frequency also drops off somewhat.
