Dunhua, Northeast China
While inspecting the aquisition of a gravity survey near the east Jilin Provincial town of Dunhua I had a chance to go trecking throught the forests and underbrush while following the crew on their route. On this walk I discovered an old friend from my days working in the Cascade mountains of America's Pacific Northwest, a
Tiger Lili. Of course its only a cousin and not called Tiger lili here, I'll use that name for lack of knowing better. I have always loved, studied, and photographed wildflowers and it was a special pleasure to see this beautiful lili bright and bold amid the cool greens of the forest understory.
