While walking along the Songhua River as it sweeps past Harbin with my colligue Dr. Liu, we heard some music in a park and went to see, and listen. There we found a small band of retired men playing their instruments and enjoying each other's company. There was a small gathering of onlookers including a woman who was slowly dancing by herself to the music. As teh lone laowei in the group I stood out and when she saw me she asked to dance. I declined of course, but peer pressure and "encouragement" from my colligue and everyone left me no choice. Actually it was nice and she was clearly pleased. Then we left and it is past.
