Twin Sisters Dunite



A slice of the earth's mantle cut out by faulting and emplaced on the west slope of Washington's north Cascade mountains. This ultramafic rock mass consists predominantly of olivine with minor amounts of enstatite pyroxene (not seen in this section) and dissiminated opaque grains of chromite.
